Professional Employer Organization (PEO)
A co-employment arrangement where a PEO shares employer responsibilities with a client business.
A Professional Employer Organization (PEO) is a company that enters into a co-employment relationship with a client business, taking on responsibility for HR administration, payroll, benefits, and compliance. Under this arrangement, the PEO becomes the employer of record for tax purposes while the client company retains full control over day-to-day operations and management of employees.
PEOs allow small and mid-sized businesses to access Fortune 500-level benefits, reduce administrative burden, and mitigate employment-related risks. According to NAPEO, businesses that use PEOs grow 7–9% faster and have 10–14% lower employee turnover than comparable businesses that do not use PEOs.
KeyHR is a Florida-based PEO serving businesses across all 50 states, with over 20 years of experience in employee leasing, payroll administration, workers' compensation, and HR compliance.
