Built for Florida Businesses

Key HR was founded in 2002 by Jennifer Stephan in Orlando, Florida. Jennifer had spent years working in the PEO industry and saw firsthand how the co-employment model could transform small businesses — giving them access to HR infrastructure, benefits, and compliance support that would otherwise be out of reach.

She also saw how many PEO companies failed their clients: generic HR advice that didn't account for Florida's unique regulatory environment, call centers instead of dedicated advisors, and technology platforms that were built for large enterprises rather than small businesses.

Key HR was built differently. From day one, every client has had a dedicated HR advisor who knows their business, their industry, and the specific HR challenges they face. Every solution is tailored to Florida's regulatory environment. And every technology investment has been made with the small business owner in mind — which is why we built Enwage, our proprietary HR platform designed specifically for businesses with 5 to 500 employees.

Today, Key HR serves hundreds of Florida businesses across every major industry, processes over $500 million in annual payroll, and has been recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies. With over 25 years of experience in PEO, employee leasing, and Florida HR compliance, Jennifer has guided Key HR to Inc. 5000 recognition and expanded the company's reach to serve businesses across all 50 states.
