NCCI
National Council on Compensation Insurance — organization that develops workers' comp classification codes and rates.
The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) is the nation's most experienced provider of workers' compensation information, tools, and services. NCCI collects data, analyzes industry trends, and provides objective insurance information and tools to help maintain a healthy workers' compensation system.
NCCI develops and maintains the classification system used to categorize workers' comp risks (class codes), calculates experience modification rates for employers in most states, and files workers' comp rate recommendations with state insurance regulators.
Not all states use NCCI — some states (including California, New York, and Texas) have their own independent rating bureaus. Florida uses NCCI for workers' compensation rating.
